About the Tellme Voice Studio Design and Development Tool

Tellme Voice Studio is a voice application design and development tool based on Microsoft's Visual Studio Domain Specific Language (DSL) toolkit. You can use Voice Studio to design, develop, maintain, and document your voice application.

  1. Alpha users should uninstall before installing Beta 1
    1. Click Start -> Control Panel -> Uninstall a program.
    2. Double-click Voice Studio.
    3. Click 'Yes' on the confirmation to uninstall Voice Studio.
  2. Download the Voice Studio installation package and expand the zip file (e.g., into c:\tmp).
  3. Click Start -> All Programs -> Accessories.
  4. Right click on 'Command Prompt'.
  5. Click 'Run as administrator'.
  6. From the command prompt type 'c:\tmp\VoiceStudio\VoiceStudio.msi' and press enter; the Voice Studio installer will start.
  7. Click 'Next'.
  8. Accept the license agreement and click 'Next'.
  9. Use the default installation directory and click 'Next'.
  10. Click 'Next' to start the installation.
  11. Review the Readme and then close the installer and the Command Prompt window.
  1. Open Visual Studio.
  2. File -> New -> Project.
  3. Under 'Project types:' select 'Visual C#'.
  4. In the Templates pane on the right select 'Tellme Voice Application'.
  5. Click 'Ok'.
  6. In the solution explorer window you will see a Modules folder, expand it.
  7. Double-click on index.tml and the 'Hello World' application will appear.
  8. Right-click anywhere on the diagram and select 'Generate Application'.
  9. A 'GeneratedApplication' folder will be created containing the application; there should be no error messages.
  10. You can now delete the 'Hello World' presentation state and begin creating your application.
